About Us

Sustainable, Heritage, Healthy

Those 3 words are what speaks to our hearts here at Sugar Valley.  A couple of generations ago, a cedar mill stood on this property.  Jim's

family owned the mill called "Sugar Valley Shake Mill" and the property was loved by all those that stopped in for Friday Night Mill Night visits.  In December of 2019, the remaining family passed the property on down to Jim and Dori.  Seeing the vision that dad Steve had for a farm, they set out to make it what it is today.  Goats, Turkeys and chickens roam the grounds.  Just this year, in 2024, fencing went up and a beautiful greenhouse was built.  Watch as we expand into berry fields, fruit orchards, medicinal and veggie gardens, all using sustainable, heritage and healthy growing methods.

Our end goal is to have a farm that produces food, herbal remedies, and beauty care products for ourselves and for those in our community.  With "from scratch" recipes, tips on preserving food and how to maintain your land and your farm, we hope to inspire others to implement these healthy changes into their own lifestyle.   Follow our journey and maybe learn a little about yourself along the way.

Our Story

We are a small, 3 acre, family owned farm.  Jim and Dori Patrick are working together to build a healthy and self sufficient food supply for their family and to share with their community.  Our focus is on organically grown, non GMO sustainable farming.

While Jim works in heavy construction by day, he works on the infrastructure of the farm.  If a fence needs fixing or a garden bed needs excavated, he is the guy.  He can build, fabricate, or fix anything.  What a handy man!

Dori operates a residential remodeling company and a bookkeeping company. She grows the food, takes care of the animals and maintains the daily farm needs.

Busy?  To say the least!  However, the ultimate goal for "Retirement" is to run the farm and enjoy the bounty of nature that surrounds them in their Pacific Northwest Farm.
